Despite the less than promising forecast enough folks turned up for us to fly. A very grey day with drizzle appearing every so often, which turned more rain like on about 3 occasions. Not exactly “rain” more like consolidated drizzle and when it appeared wait 5 or 10 minutes and it was gone. With no wind and no thermals most flights were 6 or 7 minutes. The one exception was Nigel breaking into double digits (just) with a TL visitor from Shalbourne. The average age on the field was considerably lower than normal thanks to the participation of Nick and Evander from the Southampton Uni group and David and Tom who were progressing their Duke of Edinburgh awards. Meanwhile, down in Shalbourne our neighbours were celebrating the Queen’s official 90th birthday Huge thanks to John D who drove the winch for most of the 24 launches.
